A long-form motion and editorial project designed to communicate the scope, mission, and impact of diocesan Sunday School initiatives.
Created for the Orthodox Diocesan Sunday School Administration of South-West America, this cinematic recap video highlights 13 active programs while commemorating Sunday School Day. The project balances information and inspiration, presenting measurable outcomes, program goals, and future direction within a clear, reverent narrative structure.
The video was developed with a story-first approach, using narration as a unifying guide and motion graphics to support clarity without visual overload. Clean typography, consistent title cards, and restrained transitions were used to maintain accessibility for a broad audience, including parents, teachers, students, and clergy. Key creative decisions included:
A short, elegant opening to set the tone
A smooth transition into the Metropolitan’s message
A fast-paced, narrated program recap supported by motion graphics
Consistent visual language across all initiatives
The overall style was designed to feel uplifting, organized, and modern, while remaining respectful of the Church’s traditions.
Narrative Strategy
Narration was chosen to:
Guide viewers through complex information smoothly
Reduce reliance on dense text
Create a unified voice across diverse programs
Each initiative was introduced with:
A brief purpose statement
One or two key highlights or outcomes
Minimal on-screen text for clarity
This ensured that the video remained engaging even for viewers unfamiliar with Sunday School operations.
Project Objective
The primary goal was to create a concise, engaging, and reverent video that:
Clearly communicates the vision, mission, and core values of the Sunday School Administration
Highlights 13 active initiatives with clarity and consistency
Showcases measurable outcomes and participation without overwhelming viewers
Integrates a message from the Diocesan Metropolitan as the spiritual anchor
Remains accessible and engaging for parents, teachers, students, and clergy
Given the wide audience and faith-centered context, the video needed to balance information, inspiration, and visual simplicity.
Pre-Production & Planning
Pre-production focused heavily on clarity and structure.
Reviewed and consolidated content from the Sunday School Administration
Identified key statistics, milestones, and achievements for each initiative
Prioritized what needed narration vs. on-screen text
Grouped programs logically to maintain pacing under 7 minutes
Developed a concise narration script that balanced detail with brevity
Special attention was given to presenting program updates in a positive, forward-looking tone, especially for initiatives in development.
Visual & Motion Design
The visual approach emphasized:
Clean typography and readable layouts
Subtle motion graphics for transitions and emphasis
Consistent title cards for each initiative
Calm, respectful pacing aligned with the subject matter
Motion design was used to support the message, not distract from it.

Motion graphics done in Adobe After Effects after editing and creating composition for each scene in Adobe Premiere Pro, with a focus on:
Tight pacing to maintain viewer attention
Smooth transitions between sections
Clear audio balance between narration, music, and spoken message
